What to Do When You Have the Flu

So you’re pretty sure you have the flu. Or, you’re pretty sure someone in your family has the flu – and it’s miserable. While having the flu is no fun, there are a few things you can do to cope.

For Congestion

For a natural remedy to the flu, breathe in some aromatic steam to clear your senses. Fill a sink with steam water and add a bit of fresh ginger, and a few drops of menthol or eucalyptus oil. The natural properties of the drops will help open your nasal passages. If you don’t have any oils on hand, a hot steam shower (close your door to capture the steam) will also help clear your head and your sinuses.

For Aches

We know it’s not what you want to hear, but one of the best ways to fight those aches and boost your immune system is simple bed rest. So get into your comfy pants, cue up your Netflix and get some much needed rest and recuperation.
